Childcare and babysitting services are available to guests, as is an onsite library, video library, computer rental service and guests can use a nearby fitness center for a fee. They are also close to princes street and the historic royal mile, holyrood palace and edinburgh's other attractions and approximately 7 miles (or 25 minutes, traffic permitting) from edinburgh airport.

One bedroom apartments have one queen or two twin beds; two bedroom apartments have two king beds or one king and two twin beds. Both apartment types have a separate sitting room, bathroom and kitchen plus cable / satellite TV, VCR / DVD (the knight residence has a film library), CD player, a direct-dial telephone with voicemail and broadband internet access plus a second line, iron / ironing board, in-room safe and trouser press.

In the kitchen is a washer / dryer, refrigerator, microwave, hob and oven, dishwasher, coffee / tea maker and cookware / dishes. In the private bathroom there is a shower and bath, complimentary designer toiletries, bathroom telephone, speakers for the entertainment system, bathrobes and a hair dryer.
