Opened in 2001 and the AA Scottish hotel of the year in 2003, the 5 star scotsman hotel edinburgh is set in the victorian building that housed the scotsman newspaper for more than 100 years. The exterior may be victorian, and the marble staircase and walnut panelled lobby of the newspaper have been retained, but this is a smart, plush and modern boutique hotel. Not only is It the city's highest rated full service hotel, it is also its most stylish.

Located on North Bridge Bridge the scotsman is a minutes walk from the Princes Street shopping area and the Royal Mile, within sight of edinburgh waverley railway station, close to the castle and 30 minutes from edinburgh airport.

The 56 bedrooms and 12 suites are all different in both size and style. They are decorated in modern 'neutral colors with traditional Scottish tweeds as the unifying theme'.
